What do we look for in Factory Labourers?

  • We have multiple roles and can accommodate most skill levels as thorough on the job training is provided.
  • Roles are available in both Dayshift (6am-2:30pm) and Afternoon Shift (2:30pm-11:00pm).
  • All shifts finish early on Fridays.
  • To be successful as a Factory Hand you need:
  • Reliability in work performance
  • Physically fit and able to sustain 8 hours of constant movement
  • Ability to use hand tools
  • Ability to read a build plan
  • Willing to take direction and be part of a team

What is Detailing and What do we look for?

  • Quite simply Detailers draw the internal structure (wall frames, floors and roof trusses) of a house.
  • The architect or draftsperson designs the look and functionality of a house and a detailer makes sure it can be built and is structurally sound for the environment in which it’s being built.
  • Our factory produces and assembles to the Detailers drawing.
  • Whilst we are happy to train people who have the ability but not the experience in this area, the role also suits graduate engineers looking to get some experience in building and construction; as well as detailers from other building methods (eg Timber).
  • All new starters will be provided certified Bluescope EnduroAcademy training as well as SFS specific on the job training and mentoring.
  • To be successful as a Detailer you need: 
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Problem solving
  • Ability to read and interpret plans and technical drawings
  • Willing to take direction and be part of a team

What do we look for in an Administration Assistant?

  • There are no pre-requisite skills. The role is a general support role for the Sales and office based teams.
  • It involves being the point of contact for our office, facilitating movement of jobs within our processes, photocopying job files, and any other assistance required.
  • All new starters will be provided on the job training and mentoring.
  • To be successful as a Administration Assistant you need: 
  • Customer Service mindset
  • Attention to detail
  • Confidence in Microsoft Office applications
  • Willingness to take direction an be part of a team
  • This is a role where we consider part-time and job share applicants.

The Recruitment Process

  • ONLINE APPLICATIONS

    The recruitment process begins with your online application. Your online application should provide us with information about your education and previous employment and relevant experience. Your cover letter is your chance to highlight your strengths and provide us with relevant examples as to how you’ve undertaken previous duties and tasks like those outlined in the position description.


    A good cover letter should be no more than one page long, targeted to the position you are applying for, and maintains a professional writing tone.

  • RESUMES – WHAT WE LOOK FOR

    Your resume is where you list and outline all of your achievements, education, qualifications, employment history, relevant skills and experience, and your personal details. A well written resume will help make you stand out from the crowd. Make sure that in your resume you provide a summary of your professional and educational background and skills. Your resume should help us get a better understanding of what you are capable of by demonstrating how your skills, knowledge, strengths and professional work experience matches the position you are applying for. Be sure to take out any details that are not relevant to the position you are applying for and emphasise the skills that match the position.

    Ensure your resume is structured appropriately and contains the following information:

    • Contact details: Name, address, phone numbers and email address.
    • Career Summary: A few sentences describing your professional work history e.g. I am an enthusiastic and loyal parts interpreter with over three years of experience in the trailer industry.
    • Education: Details and dates of your education, training and/or study achievements
    • Skills: A few dot points highlighting your major skills Employment
    • History: Starting from your most recent position: Title, Company and specific dates you worked there
    • Duties: A few dot points describing the duties you performed in the role
    • References: Two work references
  • PHONE SCREENS

    The phone screen is a short 15 to 30 minute phone interview with a member from our recruitment team, who will provide you with the details of the recruitment process and expected time frame.

  • BEHAVIOURAL INTERVIEWS

    Steel Frame Solutions takes great pride in matching the right person to the right job. To help us select the right person, we undertake behavioral interviewing. Behavioral interviewing allows us to determine how a candidate will perform their duties based on their prior behavior in the workplace.


    To prepare for an interview it is suggested that you:


    Create a good first impression: Groom for the occasion and act in a professional manner. Ensure you arrive on time and have prepared any documentation required from you. It is always a good idea to bring a copy of your resume, cover letter, and copies of any relevant qualifications.

    Research our business and job role. Having a clear understanding of who we are and what we do demonstrates your enthusiasm to work with us and that you a professional. Take the time to understand the working environment of our business and the role you are applying for. Think ahead of what questions you might be asked during the interview and how you would answer them. Preparation is the key to a successful interview.

    Structure your responses and take your time when answering questions during the interview. Think about the question before jumping to a response; structure your responses by describing the situation, what action you undertook and the result of your action. 

  • PRE-EMPLOYMENT MEDICALS

    A pre-employment medical examination will be required if you have applied for a position. The medical examination will be conducted at Steel Frame Solutions cost and will be conducted at one our nominated medical centre. A member from our recruitment team will discuss this process with you prior to being invited to the pre-employment medical examination.
